Academic Success

Student Academic Resource Center

The Student Academic Resource Center (SARC) is here to provide academic support and to help you be successful! SARC offers a variety of free services for all students, including: peer tutoring, Supplemental Instruction (SI), academic coaching, academic success workshops, and a variety of online academic support resources. Services are available in-person and online.


Math Success Center

The Math Success Center is a friendly place to learn mathematics. Free drop-in tutoring for students enrolled in undergraduate mathematics courses taught by the Department of Mathematics at UCF is available in the Math Success Center.


University Writing Center

The University Writing Center is a one-stop resource to help both novice and advanced writers with any writing. From research papers to resumes, the writing consultants in the University Writing Center provide one-on-one consultations to improve student writing.


Knack Tutoring

The University of Central Florida has proudly partnered with Knack — a platform enabling University of Central Florida students to book course-specific peer tutoring. Knack Tutors are fellow students who have previously aced the courses they offer assistance in; tutoring is completely free, and sessions can take place in person or online. We are continually recruiting best-fit students to sign up and list themselves as peer tutors on Knack. If you’re interested in being a peer tutor for the University of Central Florida, you can also create a verified tutoring profile, get paid to complete tutor training, and begin helping students!


John C. Hitt Library

The John C. Hitt Library offers a variety of services to students and faculty. In addition to scholarly resources (books, articles, videos, etc.), students have access to newly renovated study spaces, technology and computer rentals, and basic functions such as printing, copying, and scanning. Reference services and research consultations are offered in-person and online; visit us in the library or use Ask Us to get help via chat, phone, text, or email.

The John C. Hitt library is open seven days a week: Monday-Thursday 7:30 am-1 am, Friday 7:30 am-7 pm, Saturday 10 am-6 pm, and Sunday 12 pm-1 am. Additional OverKnight hours are available Sunday-Thursday 1 am-6 am.

For the OverKnight hours, a UCF ID card is required for entry during these hours which only allows access to a portion of the second floor. No library services or printing are available during this time but computers, restrooms, and water fountains are available.

Our branch libraries are located in the Education Complex, at the Rosen campus, and at the downtown campus. Check branch, holiday, and intersession hours on the library hours page. We look forward to seeing you soon!


Student Accessibility Services

Student Accessibility Services (SAS) views disabilities as an integral part of the rich diversity at the University of Central Florida. To that end, we work collaboratively with students, faculty, and staff to create an inclusive educational environment for students.


University Testing Center

The University Testing Center (UTC) is a standardized testing facility that administers entrance, placement, academic, certification and licensure, and pre-employment exams. A variety of exams are offered such as CLEP, Foreign Language Achievement Testing Services (FLATS), GRE, Pearson VUE, TEAS,  TOEFL-iBT, the UCF Math Placement Test, and many others in order to support student learning and success. UTC works with the Office of Student Accessibility Services to provide accommodations for students with disabilities.


Study Spaces

Technology Commons

Technology Commons provides large computer labs, laptop and tablet checkout, and group study spaces in Technology Commons I, II, and Classroom Building I room 101. Technology Commons also includes the Student Support Desk to provide students support if they experience an issue with a PC or other devices.


Reduced-distraction Spaces

Check out these campus locations that may be conducive to completing an online proctored exam.

  • UCF Library General Study Rooms
    • Study rooms are available at the UCF Library with a reservation or on a first-come, first-served basis, if the rooms are not reserved.
  • Trevor Colbourn Hall
    • Study rooms located on each of the three floors of Trevor Colbourn Hall are available on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Student Union
    • Check out the Student Union second or third floor for quiet study locations.

Student Wellness

Student Care Services

Student Care Services (SCS) assists students that may be experiencing a distressing situation that adversely impacts their academic or personal success through guidance, resources, and referrals to other campus and community resources. SCS also coordinates the UCF Cares program which is an umbrella of care-related programs related to safety and well-being, violence prevention, and mental health support resources dedicated to fostering a caring community of Knights.


Counseling and Psychological Services

Counseling and Psychological Services (CAPS) provides free-of-charge psychological services to enrolled UCF students. Services include initial assessments, brief individual counseling, group therapy, and additional workshops and presentations.


Wellness and Health Promotion Services

Wellness and Health Promotion Services (WHPS) provides programming and services to promote healthy lifestyle habits that increase higher academic performance. Outreach programming includes workshops on safe sex, nutrition, alcohol awareness and prevention efforts, stress management, sleep, healthy relationships, and body image. Additional services include HIV Testing and Risk Reduction Counseling, Wellness Coaching, SNAP education, Coupon classes, ScreenU (an online confidential substance use screening and intervention resource), and Biofeedback assisted relaxation training (stress management). We are a student work study employer!


Student Health Services

UCF Student Health Services provides a variety of primary and specialty care services to help keep students at their optimum health. The Health Center is located on the Main Campus, and satellite clinics are located at the Rosen campus and Health Sciences campus.


Financial Resources

Student Financial Assistance

The Office of Student Financial Assistance is responsible for the processing and disbursement of federal, state, and institutional aid.

  • Use UCF’s scholarship application system, Access to Opportunities (A2O), to search and apply for university scholarships with one application.
  • Virtual counseling appointments are available over Zoom for students and their families as a way to contact the office. These appointments can be made up to two weeks in advance through the financial aid website.

Centsible Knights

The Centsible Knights financial literacy program provides information and resources to support making sound financial decisions. Centsible Knights is managed by the Office of Student Financial Assistance.


Student Account Services

Student Accounts Services bills and collects tuition and fees, campus housing, and other university charges accurately and efficiently. We also manage the Florida Prepaid Tuition Plan and the Third Party Billing Program.


Additional Resources

UCF Connect Support

UCF Connect extends the academic support and student development efforts of the Main UCF Orlando campus to those students who attend classes or live near one of UCF’s ten UCF Connect Centers. At each site, students have access to Success Coaches who will provide support, guidance and assistance throughout your UCF journey. 

A comprehensive range of resources are available at the UCF Connect Centers, such as admissions, registration, financial aid, advising, student clubs and organizations, accessibility services, veteran’s affairs, “smart classrooms,” libraries, computer labs, and more. Academic advising is available for programs offered at UCF Connect Centers in conjunction with the Departmental and College Advising offices. All professional staff members are equipped with innovative tools, offering virtual appointments and other online or virtual programming in order to make meetings with students convenient, regardless of geographic limitations.

Additionally, UCF Libraries support students, faculty, and staff wherever UCF teaches classes. Services and resources such as Ask Us, Distance Services, and print materials are available through partnership libraries and online.

UCF Online Connect Center

The UCF Online Connect Center is a specialized coaching and support center for our UCF Online students. From application to graduation, the UCF Online Connect Center team works with our UCF Online students as advocates and guides throughout their online experiences at UCF.

Every student in a UCF Online program is assigned a Success Coach who are the students’ main point of contact at UCF.  Success Coaches collaborate with students to develop a holistic strategy to help overcome any challenges during their online educational journey. Services provided by an online Success Coach includes:

  • Co-designing success and skill-building strategies to help students meet academic goals
  • Navigating the transfer process with deadlines, forms, and more
  • Organizing plans to keep students on track to graduate on time
  • Collaborating with academic advising to better support the student
  • Connecting students to University support resources from A to Z
  • Championing student success through guidance, coordination, and encouragement

A Success Coach provides high-level support, coordination, and guidance for UCF Online students from the time of admission through graduation. Students can contact their Success Coach for anything nonacademic. All academic questions should be sent to their instructor or academic advisor.
